USA Cricket Announces Squad for Women’s Zimbabwe Series

USA Cricket is pleased to announce the 15-member squad for the USA Women’s National Team, set to tour Zimbabwe for a 5-match ODI Series next month from October 17-28th, 2024.

The squad sees the return of UK-based Tara Norris who shot into the Women’s Premier League history books for her 5-fer in the league’s inaugural season. Also making their debut, are 22-year old, UK-based Ella Claridge and under 19 USA bowler, Lekha Shetty.

With these five ODIs, USA will be seeking to get onto the ICC Women’s ODI Ranking table.

Women’s National Selection Panel Chair, Amer Afzaluddin said, “It is with both great excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that we name this squad at a pivotal moment as we embrace a new era of leadership under a new head coach and captain. While optimism runs high, we recognize that transitions of this magnitude require careful planning and patience to see changes fully take effect.”

The selection panel is confident in the balance struck between experienced players and emerging talents who have shown resilience, consistency, and adaptability.

Afzaluddin added, “Challenges are inevitable but we believe this squad has the capability to rise to the occasion, and while we aim for immediate success, we are equally focused on building a strong foundation for the future. It is an exciting time for us, but we remain grounded in our long-term vision for the team’s progress and are certain they will represent the country with pride and distinction.”
