IND vs NED: Jasprit Bumrah Breathes Fire in Nets, Strikes Ishan Kishan in the Stomach Before Troubling Shubman Gill

One of the main reasons behind Team India’s dominant run in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is their fast-bowler’s brilliant performances. Led by arguably the best in the world Jasprit Bumrah, India’s pacers have blown oppositions away in the competition so far.

In conditions where fast bowlers of most teams have struggled to make an impact, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami have looked class apart. Shami is currently the leading wicket-taker for India with 16 wickets including two five-wicket hauls from just 4 games. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah has picked up 15 wickets in 8 games while maintaining an economy rate of less than 4.

Jasprit Bumrah troubles Team India batters:

While the opposition batsmen have found it tough to handle Jasprit Bumrah in the ongoing World Cup, Team India’s batters also got a taste of what it’s like to face their teammate in full flow. According to a report in the Times of India, the right-arm pacer gave the India batters a tough time in the nets during an optional training session on Wednesday (November 8) in Bengaluru.

He first struck Ishan Kishan in the stomach before troubling Gill, who dispatched deliveries from the likes of Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Shardul Thakur for sixes with ease. The India pace spearhead bowled for around 20 minutes in the nets and it was enough for him to show his class.

Meanwhile, Team India have already booked their place in the semifinals and will finish the league stage at the top of the points table. The Rohit Sharma-led side has won all of its 8 games so far and will be looking to extend the winning run in the upcoming final league game. India will lock horns against the Netherlands at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on November 12.

India’s opponents for the semifinal are yet to be confirmed. India will take on the fourth-placed team in the knockout. New Zealand, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are currently in contention to make it to the semifinals. In the other semifinal, Australia and South Africa will be up against each other.
