The 28-year-old India National Cricket Team left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav castled the 34-year-old Australia National Cricket Team all-rounder Glenn Maxwell in the fifth match of the ICC Cricket World 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on Sunday, October 8.
Indian spinners dominated in the match and gave a tough time to the Australian batsmen. All the batters struggled on the Chepauk surface and no batter was able to reach the 50-run mark.
As the Indian spinners were all over the Australians, the expectations were high from the all-rounder Maxwell to deliver and bring his side out of trouble. However, he failed to do so as he was dismissed after scoring just 15 runs off 25 balls, with 1 four.
He was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in the 36th over. Kuldeep bowled a length ball and Maxwell went for a pull, which he completely missed and the ball went on to flatten his leg-stump.
Glenn Maxwell looked extremely disappointed after getting out while Kuldeep and Rohit Sharma were delighted and they celebrated the wicket with a smile on their face.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and chose to bat first in the match. They entered the match without Marcus Stoinis who was not fit enough to play. India, on the other hand, were without Shubman Gill who failed to recover in time for the match against Australia.
Batting first, the Aussies were off to a poor start in the match as the explosive opening batsman Mitchell Marsh got out for a 6-ball duck.
David Warner and Steve Smith steadied the ship for Australia after losing the early wicket. They added 69 runs in 85 balls to push India on the back foot before Kuldeep Yadav brought his side into the game by dismissing opener David Warner for 41.
Smith, however, kept fighting out in the middle against the Indian bowlers and he was looking good. He added 36 runs in 64 balls with Marnus Labuschagne before getting dismissed by Jadeja in the 28th over.
After that, Australia lost wickets at regular intervals and they were at 181/8 after 46.4 overs with Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa in the middle.
