Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja was visibly frustrated after the defeat of the Pakistan National Cricket Team against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the Asia Cup 2022 final. After the match, the furious PCB chief misbehaved with an Indian journalist and even snatched his phone.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who smashed sensational 71 runs off 45 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes, won the Player of the Match award in the final. Also, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, who bagged 9 wickets in 6 Asia Cup games and scored 66 runs, bagged the Player of the Tournament award.

After the game, a few journalists and fans circled Ramiz outside the stadium and asked him about his views on the match. Among them, there was an Indian journalist, Rohit Juglan, who asked him if he had a message for the Pakistani public back home who would be quite disappointed after the loss against Sri Lanka in the final.

The PCB chief, who was not at all in a good mood after Pakistan’s loss, got irritated at the Indian journalist’s question and started countering the journalist for using the word ‘awaam’ (common people). Also, Ramiz snatched the phone of the Indian journalist to stop the recording before handing it back to him and walking away.

Here’s a transcription of the conversation that took place between the PCB chief and the Indian journalist Rohit Juglan:

Journalist: “Awam badi nakhush hai. Unke lie koi sandesh? (The people must be unhappy. Any message for them?)

Ramiz: “Dekhie aap India se honge, aapke (awam) toh bohut khush honge.” (You must be from India, your people must be very happy).

Journalist: “Hum khush nahi hai. (No, we are not happy).”
